How do you get a new car insurance card?

I lost my car insurance card and want a new one—I know driving without proof of insurance is a bad idea. How do I get a new card?

Answer
I’m sorry you lost your old card! Luckily, though, getting a new one isn’t too difficult—you’ll just want to contact your insurance provider.
Go to your car insurance company’s website and log in. From there, you should be able to request a physical insurance card. You can also try calling them for a new card if they don’t have a way to request one on the website.
If you’re okay with a digital copy, most companies will send you a new card via email. Some insurance companies also have apps with a wallet function where you can easily save a digital copy of your insurance card. That way, as long as you have your phone, you’ll have your proof of insurance!
While you’re making sure your insurance card is all set, you may want to make sure your insurance is all set to go, too. To easily make sure you’re getting the best deal on the coverage you need, check out the Jerry app—we’ll get you customized quotes from top insurers in seconds, so that all you have to do is pick the plan that works best for you. And once you pick one, we’ll even help you switch!
Plus, once you switch, you can keep your proof of insurance in Jerry’s own wallet function. That way, you can keep any necessary insurance information easily accessible in your app.
Best of luck with the replacement!
