How do you fix scratches on a black car?
A tree in our yard lost some branches in a storm and now I have a bunch of scratches on my car paint. I want to try and avoid a visit to the body shop if I can, so how do you fix scratches on a black car?

You can follow these steps to get rid of a scratch on a black car:
- Wash and dry your vehicle
- Using a wax specifically suited for black cars, test on a small area to make sure the color matches your car’s paint—be sure to shake well before applying!
- Apply a tiny amount of product to a damp cloth or foam applicator and spread evenly on one scratch at a time
- Let dry to a haze
- Remove any excess with a soft cloth and buff it to create your desired sheen and color depth
Be sure to feel the scratch yourself before you take any action, though. If you can feel the scratch with your fingernail, it has breached the clear coat and should be fixed by a professional.
