How do you fix a gas door on a car?

I went to fill up gas in my car and my gas door won’t close. It’s never happened before, so I pushed really hard on the door, and that didn’t help. How can I fix the gas door on my car?

Protecting your car’s gas from external debris is important, and fortunately, fixing your car’s gas door is easy. There are three causes for why your gas door won’t close: broken cables, a broken latch, or broken hinges.
You might be able to buy a replacement latch from your car’s dealer and replace it yourself (depending on your car and how the latch is attached to the door), but the hinges and cables likely need
professional repair
.
Fortunately, these are quick and relatively inexpensive repairs. A mechanic will look at the cables and hinges and, if they have the parts on hand, can repair them in under an hour. You can expect to pay about $120 to $200 (depending on your car) for this repair.
While this is an easy and cheap fix, there are some car fixes you may need assistance with, so it’s always a good idea to invest in a strong car insurance policy.
