How do you fix a charging port in your car?

I have USB charging ports in my vehicle, and one of them suddenly stopped working. Is there a way to fix a charging port in your car?

If your USB charging port in your car randomly stops working, there are a few things you can try to fix it.
  • Check for dirt or other debris. Since USB ports are open, buildups of dirt and dust are common. If the port is dirty, gently clean it with a toothpick and try the connection again.
  • Plug a device into the port and gently move from side to side. If you get a brief connection at any point, it could be a wiring issue.
If cleaning out your ports doesn’t work, there may be an internal wiring issue. In that case, you’ll want to take your vehicle to a repair shop and have them fix the connection to get your charging port working again.
