How do you find the cheapest car insurance?

I currently spend $150 a month on car insurance. I need insurance, but can't afford to keep paying this much. How can I get cheaper insurance?

“You shouldn’t have to overpay for car insurance and shopping around is the easiest way to find cheap car insurance.
While you currently pay $150 a month, you may be able to find a lower rate elsewhere.
Requesting car insurance quotes online is a great way to look at your options. It allows you to customize your coverage and determine what you need. If you know you can only spend a certain amount of money on car insurance every month, this will allow you to find coverage within your budget.
If you don’t feel comfortable reducing your coverages or can’t find a lower rate, you can ask your current insurance company about discounts that can reduce your rate as much as 20%, such as:
  • Driving behavior programs or driver safety courses
  • Homeownership
  • Paying the policy in full
  • Good student
  • Multi-car
Even if you aren’t eligible for any additional discounts right now, it doesn’t mean you won’t be in the future. Car insurance companies are constantly changing rates. If you continue to shop around with Jerry every policy renewal, you’ll ensure you’re always getting the best rate.”
