How do you find out if your car is insured?

Is there an easy way to find out if a car is insured? I bought a new vehicle and I want to double-check its insurance history.

“Congrats on your new ride! It’s always better to be safe than sorry—so double-checking whether your car is insured is just plain smart.
There are a few things you could do to find out if your car is insured:
  • Review your bank statements: Looking over your finances can help you figure out if your car is insured. Go through your monthly payments (if you’re paying monthly); if it’s every six months, go back to that. If you find a transaction from your provider, then you’re most likely insured for that period.
  • Check your registration: Depending on the state, your
    registration
should have your provider and policy number listed on it. Check your glove box or search your email for your most current registration.
  • Your local DMV: Most states require your provider to keep the DMV up to date on your insurance policy. You can visit your nearest DMV with your vehicle identification number (VIN) and personal details to find out if your vehicle is insured.
We are all so busy these days. Keeping track of your insurance can be a hassle, especially for a new car. If you want to save yourself time in the future, download the
Jerry
app. Jerry contacts your insurance company to get the details of your current coverage. Plus, all of your policy paperwork is stored in the Jerry app, where you will have 24/7 access no matter where you are in the world.”
