How do you fill out a New York car title?

Is there an easy way to fill out a New York car title? I'm selling my car, and I want to make sure I fill it out right the first time.

Filling out a New York car title as
the seller
isn’t too difficult, but it can be time-consuming. But as long as you remember to fill out these details, you’ll be alright:
  • Damage Disclosure Statement. This section of your car title requires you to disclose any damage to your car. Don’t worry, you won’t need to report every scratch! The explanation in this section will tell you which information to report.
  • Odometer Disclosure Statement. All you’ll need to do here is report the number on your odometer and check a box certifying it’s true.
  • Personal Information. This section will include your name, address, and signature.
Once you’ve signed, you’re done! Remember to double-check your information. For the title to be valid, you must complete it to the best of your knowledge. Remember, only cancel your insurance after you sell the car. Until it’s been taken from your property, you’ll still be liable for any damages.
