How do you disable the steering wheel lock on a Toyota?

I have a 2016 Toyota Camry. When I exited the vehicle, I must have locked the steering wheel on accident. Now I can’t get it to budge. How can I disable the steering wheel lock on my Toyota so I don’t do this in the future?

The steering wheel lock is a theft-prevention feature on a
Toyota Camry
. When you tug the steering wheel on your way in or out of the car, you can inadvertently lock it.
While you can’t permanently disable the steering wheel lock on a Toyota, you can use these steps to unlock the wheel quickly and easily:
  • Press down on the push-button start.
  • Gently turn your steering wheel to the left and then to the right. If it’s still snug, don’t jerk it.
  • Continue this process to the left and then to the right until your steering wheel is free from the locked position.
Fortunately, disabling the steering wheel lock is pretty simple. And so is paying less for car insurance. Just download the
