How do you connect Bluetooth to a Ford C-Max?

I’ve had my Ford C-Max for years but have never used its Bluetooth capabilities. Now my teenager wants to sync her cell phone. How do I do that?

As long as your
Ford C-Max
is from 2011 or newer, then it may have Bluetooth capabilities depending on its trim level.
You can check your owner’s manual to confirm whether or not your model has Bluetooth. You can also look for the “SYNC” emblem on your dashboard, near your controls.
Once you’re certain your Ford is equipped with SYNC, follow these steps to connect your device:
  • First, ensure that Bluetooth is activated on your mobile device. You can typically do this via your phone’s settings.
  • Then, on your SYNC multimedia system, press Phone > Add Phone. The system is now discoverable from your mobile device and may display a unique PIN.
  • Finally, on your mobile device, select your Ford SYNC system in the Bluetooth menu. The two will now begin pairing, and your SYNC screen will confirm the pairing request.
You should only need to go through these steps once. After that, your mobile device should automatically connect to your C-Max every time you start the vehicle with your phone in range.
