How do you connect Bluetooth to a 2013 Ford F-150?

My in-laws just gave me their old F-150, and I really like it, but I want to be able to use the hands-free voice commands. How do I connect Bluetooth to a 2013 Ford F-150?

That was generous of your in-laws! Fortunately, you can pair your smartphone to the truck’s Bluetooth in just a few minutes. Follow these steps to connect your Bluetooth device to a 2013 Ford F-150:
  • Put your truck in PARK and enable Bluetooth on your device.
  • Push the phone icon button under the radio display to get into the phone menu.
  • Use the radio tuner to scroll down to System Settings and press OK.
  • Scroll down to BT Device and select OK.
  • Continue to scroll until you get to Add a device.
  • Press OK when Find SYNC shows up on the radio display.
  • Enter the six-digit PIN from the display into your smartphone to pair the device.
You should see Connected appear on the radio display if Bluetooth is successfully enabled. Then, the display will ask if you want to set this device as your primary phone. Press OK if that’s what you want.
Once your device is synced with the truck’s Bluetooth, you can use navigation features, stream music, and use hands-free voice commands to send text messages or make phone calls.
Now that your truck is all set up with Bluetooth, ask your insurance provider if using hands-free devices could lead to any discounts—like a safe driver discount. This is a simple way to save a little money on your car insurance costs.
