How do you connect Bluetooth to a 2012 Ford Focus? I know my car has Bluetooth, but I’ve never figured out how to pair my phone to it.

Connecting a Bluetooth device to a 2012
Ford Focus
is just a matter of following several simple steps. Here’s what’s generally involved when pairing a Bluetooth-enabled device with a Ford SYNC infotainment system:
- With your vehicle on and in park, from the SYNC infotainment system, press “phone,” then “add phone.”
- From the Bluetooth settings on your phone or other device, find and select your vehicle to pair with, verify the displayed PINs match each other, then confirm the message on the infotainment screen.
- From here, you’ll have additional options to import your contacts if you prefer. Once you finish making your selections, you’re good to go!
In case you weren’t already aware, Bluetooth’s main function here will be making hands-free phone calls—which can help you avoid
distracted driving
!If you’re hoping to stream music or other audio via Bluetooth to your Ford Focus’s stereo system, you’d need Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, which weren’t standard on
Ford
models until the 2017 model year. However, you could still easily add the capability to your 2012 Focus yourself with an aftermarket Bluetooth adapter
