How do you connect a car to a garage door opener?

My new car was delivered today, and it has a garage door opener built into the driver’s visor. I want to connect it to my house’s automatic garage door, but I’m not sure how to complete the task. How do you connect a car to a garage door opener?

Congratulations! Purchasing a new vehicle is always exciting, and I’m sure you’re eager to show it off!
To connect your new car’s visor remote to your garage door opener, grab a friend or family member and follow these steps:
  • Locate the learn or program button on your garage door opener, typically found on the ceiling-mounted part of the unit. It’s typically yellow, red, orange, or purple.
  • If you have difficulty finding the correct button, it will likely have an LED light next to it. If you still cannot locate it, consult the opener’s instruction manual.
  • Once you locate the button, have your helper press the program button while you press the open button on the car’s visor.
  • Once both buttons have been pressed, wait a few seconds and then test to see if the car’s visor can control the garage door.
  • If it doesn’t work, try again or consult the instruction manuals.
