How do you compare car insurance policies?

I’m getting off my parents’ car insurance soon, and I’m not sure how to find coverage for myself. What’s the best way to compare car insurance policies so that I can find the best one for me?

Congrats on this step into independence! Generally, the best way to compare
car insurance
policies and prices is by collecting
quotes
. To do this you’ll need to provide the following information about yourself and your vehicle:
  • Year, make, model, and vehicle identification number (VIN) of your vehicle
  • Annual mileage (or weekly mileage multiplied by 52)
  • Whether the car is leased, owned, or financed
  • Address of
    where the vehicle is parked
    (usually your address)
  • Prior insurance carrier and expiration date
Once you have this information handy, the easiest way to compare car insurance quotes is to check out the
Jerry
app. We’ll get you customized quotes from top insurers, so that all you need to do is pick the plan that works best for you. And once you find a policy that fits your needs and your budget, Jerry can sign you up for your new policy and help you get off your parents’ policy in no time!
Best of luck, and happy shopping!
