How do you clean leather car seats?
What’s a good way to clean your leather car seats? I’ve heard they can’t be cleaned like cloth seats, and I don’t want to risk ruining them!

Leather seats are more comfortable, luxurious, and demanding than other types of car seats. But you can easily clean your leather car seats by following these steps:
- First, vacuum up any debris or dirt in the seats.
- Next, find your cleaning solution. Make sure to avoid any cleaners with bleach or ammonia. You can also make your own cleaner by mixing water with liquid dishwashing soap in a one-to-five ratio.
- Apply the solution to a microfiber cloth and rub it on the seats. Be careful not to oversaturate your seats with cleaner. Feel free to gently rub at any tough spots orstainsthat won’t go away.
- Once you’re done, make sure to wipe your seats dry. Leather seats should never be left to air dry, as this can cause them to mold.
- After they’ve dried, spray your seats with a leather protectant to keep them from getting damaged or stained.
Leather seats require more attention than your average car seats. To keep them properly maintained, give them a quick wash every few weeks and deep clean them at least three times a year.
