How do you clean fuel injectors without removing them?
So, I know I should probably clean my fuel injectors. But to be honest, I’m really not willing to go through the hassle of removing them. Is there a way I can clean my fuel injectors without removing them?

Great question! It’s true removing fuel injectors can be a bit of a headache and a mechanic usually has to do it for you anyway. Fortunately, there is a way that you can clean your fuel injectors without removing them. You will however need to purchase a fuel injector cleaning tool and an air compressor.
Once you have those things, here’s what you’ll need to do:
- Locate and disconnect the fuel rail
- Fill the fuel injector cleaning tool with cleaning fluid as directed on the product packaging
- Connect the cleaning tool to the hood and the outlet pipe
- Remove the fuel pump relay from the fuse box
- Hook your air compressor up to the cleaning tool
- Start your car and let it run until the cleaning fluid is used up
- Reconnect the fuel pump to the fuse box
And just like that, your fuel injectors should be good as new!
