How do you clean car tail lights?

I went offroading last weekend and now my tail lights are covered in mud. What's the best way to clean them?

Offroading is a great time; I hope you had fun! Mud is fairly easy to remove, so cleaning your
tail lights
shouldn’t be too difficult if you follow these simple steps:
  • Give them a good wash with warm water and soap, using a soft cloth or microfiber towel.
  • Now that they’re relatively clean, check for scuffs or issues that may need further attention or repairs.
  • If they are really dirty, use a microfiber cloth to apply a pro-grade compound. Use a rapid movement to rub the compound into the plastic.
  • After that, if you still have issues, try a small polishing pad with a handheld drill. Just apply the compound to the pad and run over the plastic.
  • If you want a shiny finish, add some plastic polish at the end * At-home remedies such as toothpaste and baking soda can also work. You should now have squeaky clean tail lights!
Considering the offroading you’re doing, I’d recommend looking into our roadside assistance program to keep you and your car as safe as possible. With
Jerry
in your pocket, you’ll never have to worry about being stranded again. Jerry’s roadside assistance includes jump starts, lockout service, key replacement, and towing.
