If you don’t have one of your own, you can often find them at gas stations with an air filling station.
- Unscrew the valve stem cap on your tire
- Press the tire gauge onto the tire stem until you no longer hear a hissing sound
- Depending on the type of gauge you’re using, a bar might emerge from the valve to show you your tire pressure reading, or it might display digitally
Once you have your reading add or remove air to or from the tire as needed.
Your Honda Accord’s tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) should also alert you with an indicator light if it detects one of your tires is too low. However there’s always the possibility an unexpected problem with the system could prevent it from turning on when it should. It’s always a good idea to double-check your tire pressure for yourself.
If your tire pressure is where it should be but your ride still feels uneven, you might want to consider taking your Accord to a mechanic to make sure there’s not a different problem that needs your attention.
