How do you check if a car is insured for free?
I’m a new driver. Last week, I was trying to parallel park in a space that was just too small and I hit someone’s car. I called the police and reported it, but the owner never showed. I’m really worried about what happens next. Is there a free way to check if a car that does not belong to me is insured?

They may be able to provide you with another person’s insurance information if you have a proper cause.You will need to provide your contact information and the reasons for your request. Because driver information is protected under privacy laws, the DMV and police can deny your request if you provide any false information or give a false report.
