How do you check a car insurance policy number?

I know I have a digital pdf copy of my car insurance. But where can I find my policy number on it?

Answer
When looking at your proof of insurance, you’ll usually find your policy number near the top. It’s usually between nine and 13 characters long and can be composed of numbers, letters, or both.
If you have an “insurance ID,” it will be identical to your policy number.
