How do you change the windshield wipers on a Ford Fiesta?

I just bought a used Ford Fiesta about a week ago. I really need to figure out how to change the windshield wipers—we’re going through some minor hurricane weather here in Florida and it’s been non-stop raining for the last few days. How do I install new windshield wipers?

To change the windshield wipers on a
Ford Fiesta
, the first thing you’ll need to do is find the properly sized windshield wiper for your car. This information is in your vehicle manual.
Visit your local auto shop and purchase the right pair, then:
  • Disconnect and remove the old blade. Start on the driver’s side of your car and press the small button on top of the wiper to release it. Slide the wiper away from the arm that holds it in place.
  • Place the adapter on top of the new blade by lining up the V-shaped indicator on the adapter with the matching one on the blade. These two pieces should snap into place.
  • Attach the new blade by gently inserting the wiper blade adapter into the windshield wiper arm. The new wiper should snap into place with ease.
  • Repeat this process for the passenger-side wiper.
Working windshield wipers are an essential part of staying safe in stormy weather, so you’re making the right call by replacing them. Ensure you’re properly covered by the right
car insurance
, too!
