Good for you! Changing the spark plugs in a 2010 Hyundai Accent is pretty easy once you know how. Here’s what you’ll need to do:
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Remove the bolts that hold the plastic engine cover in place.
  • Remove the plastic engine cover.
  • Carefully disconnect the wiring harness from the coil packs.
  • Remove the bolts holding the coil packs in place.
  • Remove the coil packs.
  • Loosen and remove the spark plugs using a ratchet and spark plug socket.
  • Insert the new spark plugs and tighten them—first by hand then with the ratchet.
  • Reconnect the coil pack wire harness.
  • Attach your plastic engine cover.
  • Connect your negative battery terminal.
And that’s it! Try starting your Hyundai to make sure it starts properly.
