How do you change the spark plugs in a 1999 Lexus GS300?

A couple of the spark plugs in my 1999 Lexus GS300 are bad. I’ve already bought replacements, but I’m not sure how to install them. How do you switch out the spark plugs in a GS300?

Good question! If you have bad spark plugs, you’ve probably been noticing sputtering and misfiring. To change the spark plugs in a 1999
Lexus GS300
, follow these steps:
  • Pop the hood.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Pull the spark plug wire off the plug.
  • Remove the plug from the cylinder head. You’ll need a ratchet with a spark plug socket.
  • Place a new plug in the cylinder head and tighten it. Take care not to cross-thread the plug
  • Attach the spark plug wire to the plug.
  • Repeat the process for each plug that needs to be replaced.
Once you know how to do it, replacing spark plugs in a 1999 Lexus GS300 is pretty quick and easy—just like saving money on your
