How do you change a Honda keyless remote battery?

The remote key for my Honda randomly stopped working this morning and it’s making it very difficult to use my car. How can I change the battery in my Honda’s keyless remote?

I’m sorry to hear that your keyless remote has stopped working. Luckily, changing the battery in your
Honda’s
keyless remote is easy, and you only need to follow these simple instructions:
  1. Find out what battery type your key remote needs by checking your owner’s manual, the back of the key fob, or the back of the battery once you open it.
  2. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry your key fob apart. Be gentle while doing this, you don’t want to damage any of the parts inside.
  3. Take out the dead battery, but take note of the position of the positive and negative sides.
  4. Put your new battery in with the same orientation of the positive and negative sides.
  5. Reassemble your key fob and test the remote.
If your keyless remote is back in working condition, great! If not, you may need to contact your dealership for a new keyless remote. This replacement can run you upwards of $300. To help you pay for this expense, try shopping for a new
