How do you change a car’s hood?

How can I change my car’s hood? I’d like to upgrade my hood to be lighter and already have the one I’m going to use. I’m not sure how to swap them out.

Changing your car hood is a great way to modify your car without much effort!
Before you start, make sure you have someone there with you to help. Hoods are heavy and changing them is a two-person job. Once you have a friend, follow these steps:
  • Open the hood
    and prop it.
  • Get your partner to go to the opposite side of the hood you’re on.
  • Now, loosen the two bolts at the base of the hood (using a tool such as a ratchet).
  • Next, get your partner to loosen their two bolts and remove them.
  • Hold the hood tightly and pull the prop rod out of the hood.
  • Remove the hood.
  • Using the hinges and bolts you just undid, install the new hood.
  • Make sure all the bolts are tight.
As long as the new hood latches, you’re good to go!
