How do you carry a car battery?

What's the best way to carry a car battery? I have an old battery that I need to transport, and I want to make sure that I'm doing it as safely as possible.

Batteries are full of toxic materials, so it’s good to be cautious when handling them! Follow these steps to safely carry a
car battery
:
  • First, put it in a plastic bag. Batteries can leak, so putting them in plastic bags is an easy way to avoid bigger problems.
  • Next, cover the terminals with non-conductive tape.
  • Place the taped and bagged batter in a box so that it doesn’t move around too much when you transport it.
  • From there, you can move your battery freely! But try to keep it upright in every stage of transportation.
Since car batteries are often lead-acid batteries, you should be extra careful when handling them. Leaks can damage your skin and will leave stains in shirts, pants, and car seats. Before transporting the battery, make sure it’s marked as NONSPILLABLE and always handle your batteries with care.
