How do you care for an electric golf cart?
I live close to a golf course, and I’ve always had my own cart to use while golfing. My cart was a gas powered cart, but the engine went out, so I’m looking to buy a new one, I heard electric golf carts are lower maintenance. How do you care for an electric golf cart?

Great question! Taking care of your electric golf cart is similar to taking care of an electric car, with a few differences for the difference in how often you’ll use it. An electric golf cart should be less maintenance than your old gas golf cart, and the engine is less likely to go.
The biggest thing you need to know about your electric golf cart is that when you’re not using it, you’ll want to plug it in. We’re betting you don’t use your electric golf cart every day like you would with an
electric car
. If that’s the case, plugging it in will make sure the cart is ready to use when you go golfing next, and keep the battery healthy. Letting your batteries go a prolonged time without charging can damage them over time, negatively affecting their capacity.
In fact, the electric golf cart will save you some maintenance. You won’t need to fill up gas for it, and there are no oil changes needed, because electric golf carts don’t have any oils. These are two of the benefits of electric cars as well; not requiring gas or oil changes saves EV drivers a lot of money.
