How do you cancel a Tesla Model 3 order?

I'm in the market for an electric car. I ordered a Tesla Model 3 a few days ago but after reading some reviews online, I want to cancel my order and go for something cheaper. How do I do that?

You can either log into your Tesla account and click Manage or contact Tesla directly—it depends on whether you’ve designed your car already.
Here are your options if you’ve decided a Tesla is not worth it.
  • If you haven’t designed your car yet: Cancel your request by logging in to your Tesla account and clicking the Manage button, then Submit a Request. From there you’ll be able to cancel your request. 
  • If you’ve already designed your car: You’ll need to contact Tesla directly to see if it’s possible to cancel your
    Model 3
     order.
According to Tesla’s website, the cancellation process can take up to 30 days. However, it is possible that you won’t be able to cancel your order once it has been placed, and your $100 order fee will not be refunded.
While Tesla used to have a seven-day return policy, the company canceled its return policy in October of 2020 and has yet to implement a new one.
