How do you buy insurance for cars?
What’s the best way to buy insurance for cars? I’m looking for a new insurance policy for the first time since I was 18, and I don’t know where to start.

Buying car insurance can be a long and tricky process, but try not to worry. If you stay organized and communicative, you shouldn’t have any problems. Follow these steps to make sure you’re getting the car insurance you need:
- Define the coverage you want. Before you look for quotes, you’ll need to figure outhow much coverage you want.
- Gather your information. Collect any pertinent information about you and your vehicles—such as VIN, car’s make and model, license plate number, driver’s license number, and address. Make sure to keep it all close by—you’ll need it!
- Gather quotes from at least three companies. The first provider you find will rarely be your best option. Gather at least three quotes to get a good feeling of your options.
- Compare quotes and pick a provider. Once you’ve looked through your quotes, pick which one works best for you and let them know you’re interested! They’ll draw up a contract and help get you covered.
