How do toll roads work in Oklahoma?

My friend and I are going on a road trip across the country this fall. One of the states we are planning to drive through is Oklahoma. We’re trying to plan a route that avoids unnecessary toll roads, but I assume we’ll have to at least pay a couple of them. How does a toll road work in Oklahoma?

Toll roads in

work the same as most other U.S. toll roads. Oklahoma tolls can be paid with cash or the Pikepass cashless tolling system.
Note that Oklahoma’s Kilpatrick and Kickapoo Turnpikes operate with PlatePay instead of cash. The fare will be sent to you automatically by mail.
Oklahoma’s turnpike system is extensive and the state government maintains it through its Turnpike Authority. Chickasaw Turnpike has two lanes, but the rest have at least four lanes.
