I’m new to Texas, and I’ve already noticed there are a lot of toll roads in the state. There are also lots of different toll tag options, and I don’t know which one to get. How do Texas toll tags work?

You’re right that there are a lot of toll roads in Texas. It can be confusing to newcomers, and the multitude of options you have for getting a toll tag on your car can complicate things even further!
There are three toll tags to choose from—TxTag, EZ Tag, and Toll Tag.
The good news is that although Texas toll tags are issued and billed by three different entities, they all work on almost all toll locations across Texas. There are some parking areas in Dallas that only accept Toll Tag, but otherwise, the tags should work throughout the state for you.
