How do I use the Honda Insight remote start?
I recently bought a 2020 Honda Insight that has a remote start feature. The only problem is I’ve never used a remote start before and I don’t know how it works—so how do I use the remote start on a Honda Insight?

Congratulations on buying a new car! The remote start option is definitely a convenient feature, but if you’ve never used it before you might have trouble figuring it out—but that’s okay! Everything you need is right there on your key fob, so to make use of the remote start feature on your Honda Insight, follow these steps:
- Stand within 400 feet of your vehicle
- Press the lock button on the key fob
- Immediately afterward, press and hold the remote start button for at least 5 seconds (the remote start button is marked by an arrow moving clockwise)
- You’ll know it worked if the lights flash and your car starts
If you want to remotely stop your vehicle, simply stand within 400 feet of it and press and hold the remote start button for at least five seconds—your Honda should then shut off. If you leave your car on and ten minutes pass without any activity, it will automatically shut off.
Remember, never start your vehicle in an enclosed space such as a garage, especially without proper ventilation, as this could result in carbon monoxide poisoning.
