My insurance company bills me every month. I really try to understand what I'm paying for, but it's like it is written in a different language. How do I understand my car insurance policy?

Car insurance can definitely be confusing, but you can always call your insurance agent or your provider’s customer service line if you are confused about your policy. You can also consult your policy’s
declaration page
for all the basics of your plan.You should have received your declaration page in the mail when you first bought your policy, and it can usually be accessed online as well. The declaration page includes helpful information like:
- A breakdown of your premium
- A list of all the coverages you are paying for
- Limits for each type of coverage
- Your deductibles
- Any discounts that are being applied to your premium
- Your insurance agent’s contact information
- The effective dates of your policy term
If you keep investigating beyond the declarations page, you will find more detailed explanations, but this can give you a nice overview.
