How do I turn on 4WD in my Subaru Outback?

I am heading out on a camping trip tomorrow and will be driving on some very bumpy dirt roads. I want to use the 4-wheel drive on my car to get the best traction but I don’t know where the button is located to engage the system. How do I turn on the 4WD drive system in my Subaru Outback?

Driving on dirt roads can be equally fun as it is stressful if you don’t have the right vehicle to support you. Luckily, your
Subaru Outback
will be a solid companion for your trip.
However, the Subaru Outback is not equipped with a 4WD. In fact, all Subaru vehicles come with a standard all-wheel-drive system. This AWD system operates differently than a 4-wheel drive system in that drivers cannot switch it on and off. Rather, the AWD remains on at all times.
If you’re driving your Subaru in a low-traction terrain, your vehicle will measure and readjust power accordingly to use all four wheels to move forward and react to different conditions in real time. In turn, your car should feel glued to the road and be able to handle a variety of conditions with ease.
Since you’re planning on heading out on an adventure, make sure you have the right
car insurance policy
to ensure you’re fully protected.
