Safety should always come first, especially with a baby in the car. Thankfully, Ford makes it easy to disable the passenger airbag with your key or the fuse box.
To turn off the passenger’s airbag with your key:
Find the small button the instrument cluster/dashboard marked Passenger Airbag.
Put the key in the ignition.
Turn the key to the off position.
Press the button and hold it until it beeps.
The passenger side airbag will be disabled for one ride.
You’ll need to repeat these steps every time you turn the car back on.
If you can’t locate the Passenger Airbag button or your Ranger doesn’t have one, you can use the fuse box to turn off the airbag by:
removing the fuse corresponding to the passenger’s side airbag, and
leaving it unplugged until you have a full-sized adult in the front seat.
While you can help keep your child safe by disabling the airbag, you should also make sure you have the car insurance
