How do I travel with a fish in my car?
I’m moving from my apartment to the house I bought across town tomorrow. I’ve arranged for movers and have packed up everything I own, except my Betta fish Ruthy. How do I safely travel with a fish in my car?

Congrats on your new home! Moving is always stressful with a pet, but luckily you can safely drive with your fish Ruthy using these methods:
- Use a plastic bag. Fill up a strong and clear plastic bag halfway with your tank water and place your fish in it. If your trip will take over an hour, purchase pure oxygen and add it to the bag.
- Transport in the Aquarium. Remove enough water from the aquarium so no spillage will occur if you hit the brakes too hard. Be sure to take out any decorations as to not crack the glass in the event of acollision.
- Try a bucket. While this is not the best option, you can use a bucket to travel with a fish in the car if you don’t have a plastic bag or aquarium.
