Transferring your car insurance to a new vehicle is easy. Just reach out to your insurance provider.
Once you get a new car, you’ll have a grace period (varies depending on your provider) to
switch your insurance to this new vehicle
. The grace period can be anywhere from a few days to a month. Make sure you switch before the end of the grace period to stay covered.
Once you have your new vehicle, contact your provider. You’ll need to provide your personal information and information on the new car, like:
  • Make and model
  • Amount of miles on odometer
  • The vehicle identification number (VIN)
  • The registration
Know that your insurance costs may change based on the cost, year, make, and model of your new vehicle.
When insuring a new vehicle, it’s a good idea to shop around to ensure you’re getting the best rate. If you’d like to leave the hard work of pulling quotes to someone else, use the
