How do I transfer a car title in Nebraska?
I recently sold my car to my sister. She gave me the cash, so all I need to do is transfer the title. How can I transfer a car title to someone else in Nebraska?

It’s always nice to help a sibling out! To transfer a car title in Nebraska, you need to sign the title over.
- As the seller, you need to sign the seller’s section of the title.
- If you have a lienholder, you need to get a lien release.
- Provide your sister with a bill of sale or Nebraska Department of Revenue Form 6.
- Your sister needs to fill out the buyer portion of the title with her name, address, and signature.
- Carefully go over the title to make sure that everything is in the correct place.
- Give the signed title to your sister.
- Your sister then has 30 days to go to the county treasurer, pay the $10 fee, and get the new title.
