How do I tell if I have a G80 differential?

In order to tell if you have a G80 differential, you’ll need to refer to the SPID label, which is an RPO code list sticker located in the glovebox.
The Service Parts Identification (SPID) label will tell you plenty of important information about your vehicle, including if it has a G80 differential. This label should be a sticker inside the glovebox.
The G80 differential is a specific differential designed by Eaton. It offers low-speed traction aid. At regular speeds, the G80 is an open differential, which allows the rear tires to spin independently.
If triggered by slippage in one of the wheels, the G80 differential will lock and force the back wheels to rotate at the same speed. This will improve traction and help you regain control of your vehicle.
