Almost all new models of the Honda Accord Sport
use a key fob. But even if it’s not working, don’t stress. While you can’t start a Honda Accord with a key, you can start it with a dead key fob. The key fob does have a hidden physical key, though—and you’ll need it to enter the car. To find the key, look for a small switch with an arrow on it on the back of the fob. Push it, remove the key, and use it to unlock your door.
When you get behind the wheel, you’ll notice that your Accord doesn’t have an ignition. To bypass this, simply hold the key fob up to the push-button start and push the start button. Your car should fire right up!
If it doesn’t work, your only alternative is to purchase a new battery for your key fob. You can usually find these batteries online, at an auto parts store, or at a Honda dealership.
While key fob batteries typically last a few years, don’t get stranded because you can’t start the car. Instead, invest in a roadside assistance program or find a car insurer that offers towing and labor coverage
