How do I start a car with a start/stop button?

I just bought a car and it has a start/stop button. I tried to start my car the other day, but it didn’t start the ignition. Is there a trick to starting a car that has a push-button ignition?

Keyless ignitions are far easier to start for most drivers, adding a touch of luxury and convenience. In all likelihood, you either need to put your foot on the brake or bring the key fob closer to the ignition.
In most cases, your key fob isn’t the issue. Modern models have a transmission range of around 50 to 100 feet. So unless you left the key fob in the house, you shouldn’t have to worry too much. If you had the key fob on you when you tried to start the engine, you may *need to replace the battery**.
Depressing the brake is part of what allows the start function to work on a remote keyless ignition system. If you don’t press the brake, your car simply goes to ACC or accessories, but it won’t start. This is a safety feature so your car doesn’t roll forward or backward if you inadvertently start the vehicle.
Once you press the brake, the start/stop button should light up, letting you know that you can start the car. Simply push the button and you should hear the engine spring into action.
Not only is a start/stop button a nice high-tech amenity that adds value to your vehicle, but the key fob can also
prevent locking your keys in your car
.
