When it comes to cleaning your car, I find that doing it yourself will almost always get the best results. Shining your tires at home is fairly simple as long as you have the right products and a helping hand (in this case, our answer).
Before you attempt to shine your tires, you should consider washing your car first, as this will produce the best results. Keeping your car clean
is very important if you want both the interior and exterior of your car to look newer and last longer. To clean your car tires at home, you will need a few products:
Towels (preferably microfiber)
A hose (with a nozzle for the best pressure)
Tire cleaning products (Cleaner, shine, and wax)
Note: For a natural substitute, use a mix of baking soda and vinegar (70/30).
After giving your tires a quick shower, lather them up with your selected cleaner. Make sure to use your brush to get as many nooks and crannies scrubbed as possible. For harder-to-scrub spots, let the soap sit for a minute or two and work your way back to the spot.
Start from the rim and work your way outwards to the actual tire. This prevents bringing unnecessary residue from your tires onto the much shinier rims.
Once you finish scrubbing, dry your tires off with your towel or rag. If you want to make your tires pop (no pun intended), you should apply your tire wax of choice to both the rim and the tire and you’re all done!
While you’re cleaning up your car, why not clean up your car insurance too?
