How do I settle a car accident claim without involving insurance?
I was in a minor accident last weekend. I don't think the repairs will be more than a few hundred bucks, and I don't think it is worth going on my driving record with a claim. How do I settle a car accident claim without involving insurance?

This can depend on the circumstances of the incident, but making an insurance claim after an accident is your choice. However, be aware of the risks involved if you decide to not make a claim.
Not making a claim for minor accidents can keep your insurance premiums low. However, you should still handle the
aftermath of the accident
as if you were going to file a claim. That means you should:- Take pictures of the incident.
- File a police report.
- Call your insurance company. (This does not mean you need to file a claim, but informing your insurer about the accident is a smart idea if you change your mind and want to file later.)
- Get a repair estimate.
Be warned that car repairs can be pricey! Even a minor ding can cost hundreds of dollars and repairing without insurance can lead to some serious out-of-pocket costs.
