How do I sell a car privately in Georgia?

You can absolutely sell your car yourself! Before you start, be sure you’ve researched the
typical selling price
for your make and model and come to a fair asking price.In order to actually sell your car, you’ll need to gather up all of the documents that you have for your car, including:
- The title
- Service records
- A bill of sale
- The owner’s manual
- Any transferable warranties
- A release of liability
- A valid emissions report
Once you’ve advertised and found a buyer, you’ll also have to:
- Transfer your titleto the buyer.
- Cancel your car registration by going to the DRIVES e-Services online site or by delivering an MV-18J form to your local County Tag Office.
Once you’ve done all of that, you’ll need to cancel your car insurance for the car you’re selling. The easiest way to update your insurance policy is by using the
