Kudos on keeping up with the
basic maintenance
of your car! In all likelihood, your mechanic probably just forgot to reset the oil life indicator after the oil change.
To reset the oil life on a 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid, follow these steps:
  • Turn the key to the ON position.
  • Use the TRIP button on the instrument cluster to select OIL LIFE.
  • Press and hold the TRIP button for 10 seconds.
  • After OIL LIFE starts to flash, release the button.
  • Immediately hold the TRIP button again for 5 seconds to reset the oil life.
If done correctly, your oil life percentage should reset from 20% to 100%. In the future, make sure to check and reset the oil life every time you get an oil change.
