It’s nice to have a key fob that tells you when it’s time to replace the battery rather than just not unlocking your car one day! Tesla key fob batteries typically last around one year, but thankfully, replacing your
Tesla Model S
key fob battery is simple:
  • Turn your key fob over and locate the small notch there.
  • Use a small flathead screwdriver or similar tool to gently wedge in the notch, releasing the back cover.
  • Use the same tool to carefully pop the battery out.
  • Insert the new battery with the positive side facing up until it clicks into place.
  • Snap the back cover on again.
Tesla designs their vehicles for peak performance and easy handling—their screened key fobs included. And to ensure your high-tech luxury vehicle is protected, you’ll need a solid
car insurance
policy.
