How do I replace a Dodge Durango key fob battery?

The key fob for my 2018 Dodge Durango is getting a little jumpy. It usually won’t unlock my vehicle on the first try so I’m thinking it’s time for a battery change. How do you replace a key fob battery for a 2018 Dodge Durango?

Usually, key fob batteries need to be changed every three to four years, so it sounds like you’re in that range now. You can easily replace a
Dodge Durango
key fob battery by:
  • Turning the
    key fob
over to reveal the small button used to release the physical key. Press the button to pop the key out
  • Above the slot where the key came out should be another gap. Slide a flathead screwdriver or a quarter into the gap and gently twist your tool so that the key fob casing comes apart
  • Remove the old battery. You can use the screwdriver or coin to pry it out
  • Insert the new battery with the positive side facing down
  • Snap the two sides back together and put the physical key back in its slot
