How do I rent a Tesla Model 3?

I want to try out the Model 3, but I can't afford to buy one right now. Is there a way for me to rent one instead?

The short answer is yes, you can rent a Model 3, though it’ll probably be more expensive than your average car rental. One way to rent the Model 3 is through
Turo
.
Turo is a car-sharing company rather than a rental company, so people can rent out their cars to customers through the app. Turo is often used for luxury cars, so all four Tesla models are relatively common on the app.
If you’re interested in other Tesla models, as well, you could look into:
  • Big car rental companies, like Avis, Enterprise, and Hertz. Many of these companies will rent out the Model S, although the Model 3 is a little more difficult to find.
  • Sixt, a German-owned luxury rental company. Sixt is one of the few rental companies that offer the Model X for rent.
While many rental companies offer insurance, the coverage is usually pretty basic, and companies like Turo will rarely offer insurance at all. Before you hit the road, take a look at the
Jerry
app to compare insurance coverages and costs for free, including
rental car coverage
.
