“Ugh, water stains can be stubborn, even if you take your car to a car wash!
Like sap and tar, water stains are difficult to remove. Luckily, there are some inexpensive ways to get rid of those stains.
The Vinegar Method
  • Mix two parts distilled water and one part white vinegar in a large bowl.
  • Pour the solution into a spray bottle (if available).
  • Spray or apply the mixture on the hard water stains. Focus on one area at a time. (Don’t worry the solution will not harm your car.)
  • Rub the water stain gently with a soft, clean cloth (lint-free is great, microfiber is best). Repeat this process as many times as necessary. Note that the longer the stain has been there, the longer it may take to remove.
  • Rinse your car with a hose or remove the solution manually with a wet rag.
  • Dry off your car.
The Baking Soda Method
  • Mix three parts baking soda and one part distilled water in a bowl. For something a little stronger, add a few drops of white vinegar.
  • Grab a clean cloth and apply a modest amount of the paste to it. Gently rub the affected areas.
  • Leave the paste on the water spots for 15 minutes—or longer if you deem it necessary.
  • Remove the paste by rinsing the area with water or water-soaked cloth.
  • Repeat these steps if necessary.
  • Dry your vehicle.
Since you clearly care about keeping your car in great shape, make sure it’s protected with great car insurance, as well.
