How do I remove the haze from my car windshield?

I've noticed a haze on my car windshield. How do I remove it? I've tried all types of window cleaners and nothing seems to work, but it seems too much like a safety hazard to just leave alone.

“It’s definitely got the makings of a safety hazard—good for you for recognizing that. Haze is caused by airborne contaminants, so a hazy windshield is an inevitability. However, cleaning it can be simple—just try one of these solutions:
  • A mix of white vinegar and water
  • Ammonia-free glass cleaner such as the one from Armor All
  • Rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide
When you can’t see out of your windshield, it can cause a lack of visibility or distracted driving, which are a couple of the
top causes of car accidents
.
Even with prevention, windshield haze may pose a problem, particularly in urban areas with lower air quality. If you live in a city, you may want to consider collision coverage with a quote from

—we’ll make sure you get the best deal on the coverage you need—just in case that nasty haze reappears.
Good luck with getting rid of it, and drive safely!”
