How do I remove the center console on a Ford Focus?
The center console in my Ford Focus has a huge crack in it. I want to replace it and I’ve already purchased a new one. I think I know how to install it, but I don’t know how to take out the old one. How can I remove the center console from my Ford Focus?

Sorry to hear about your cracked center console—luckily, it’s one of the easiest parts to replace on a Ford Focus! All you need to replace the console is a screwdriver and an Allen wrench.
When you’re ready, follow these steps to remove the center console from your Ford Focus:
- Put the Focus in neutral and use the handbrake to park the vehicle.
- Pry up the trim around the gearshift using a screwdriver and release the fasteners.
- Locate the trim button on the driver’s side of the center console and use the screwdriver to pry it loose.
- Pull away the side panel after releasing the five fastener clips.
- Pry up the trim around the parking lever and release the fastener.
- Remove the three screws around the gearshift panel using an Allen wrench.
- Pry and remove the trim panel that goes from the left side of the radio down to the gearshift.
- Remove the trim panel on the passenger side of the console by releasing the two clips.
- Remove any electrical connections.
- Unscrew the four bolts inside the center console box.
Remember that the process may differ depending on your model year, but it will still require the same tools.
